A Cease in the Action
Recent times in Brittannia have brought with them a calm and peace across the land. It is strange to me that such an event would occur. Everday I wonder what evil and twisted plot will be brought upon us the next day, and everyday the answer is the same, nothing. I have traveled across the land and I find only minor skirmishes at the most between the humans and monsters. Yet I continue to wonder what has happened to the impending doom that threatened the land and brought enemies together to fight these fiends.
What has happened to the Liche twins Lathari and Kyrnia? Since there disappearence at their southern tower they have not been heard from. Clearly they would not have given up that easily. Yet it appears they have. Noone has seen or heard from them in weeks, and one could only hope that some evil side-effect of one of their experiments went wrong and consumed them. The Sage Humbolt continues his research in some sort of money pit that continues to require more resources and time of the people and Lord British. Some days I wonder if the Sage actually does anything considering the people have seen no fruits of the Sage's hard work. It appears the Liches are gone from now, this may only mean that they are creating an unstoppable army of undead, but I prefer to be a bit more optimistic and hope they are gone for good.
The Zog Cabal is the next topic of interest. Who is going to tell me that this fanatical group seized a shipment of weapons and armor and are not going to use it? The whole purpose of doing such a thing would be to weaken the town guards and strike back soon while they tried to recover from the lost supplies. Like the Liches the Zog Cabal has not caused any trouble for weeks now. I am not one to promote violence, but what happened to these threats? Something strange is taking place. I cannot put my finger on it, but I feel something as weakened these groups considerably and has caused them to go into hiding.
What or who would be so powerful to cause these two factions to not reveal themselves. Surely it was not the guards of Lord British who are afraid to walk outside the city walls. Perhaps they were looking for something, but didn't realize its true power until it was too late. Or even worse, perhaps some other group found it before them. Whatever, it is I hope I'm not arround when the conclusion takes place take place.
Unfortunately it seems that once again there are more questions than solutions. I hope this has given everyone something to think about in the next couple days. Until something exciting happens again I will continue my search into the truth.
