ith Lord British's newest
announcement, the business of Cartographers has seen an enormous increase.
Two days ago, Lord British announced that his spies from the vile monsters have
become enraged by the fact that so many adventurers have been raiding their treasures.
As a result they have taken it upon themselves to move this treasure.
. . . . . . Sources say that for about a month the monsters have been moving their hoards of wealth, but because monsters are not the brightest creatures, they are having trouble remembering where they left their treasure. This is why they can be found carrying treasure maps to the exact location of their wealth. At this momment the monsters are vulnerable and soon when the monsters are slain the treasure will be free for the adventurers taking. . . . . . . The monsters were not completely unintelligent, however. The monsters have taken the time to jumble their maps to prevent others from reading them. Hence the increase in the business of Cartographers. This is not the only block awaiting would be warriors. Most monsters live in clans and do not take lightly to their clan brothers being killed. Since these monsters will undoubtably know that their map has been stolen they will be there to defend their treasure. If this weren't enough, some monsters have hired people to lock their chests and place deadly traps inside as well. . . . . . . An adventurer would most-likely need to work in a group to get at the treasure, but it shall undoubtaly well worth the trouble. Some speculations are that these chests will contain gold, magic weapons, and many other items of value. As a result, the more valuable the items the harder it will be to find and obtain them! . . . . . . The idea of finding buried treasure, is a mixed blessing for current Cartographers. At the momment business is booming as people buy blank maps all day. The cartographers can barely keep them in stock. However, this has lead many to enter this profession as well, which will eventually send prices plummeting. Arnold the mapmaker stated, "Well, with all these blank maps were selling, we have some jolly good profits. However, we had over ten people seeking apprenticeships just today! With an interest like that, we all could be out of a job, come spring." . . . . . . The demand for practice maps is so huge that there has been a shortage of practice maps all day. The paper industry is also, in need of help as they say reserves will run out if the demand doesn't slow down soon. Until it is discovered how valuable these treasures are, it seems that this mad cartography rush will continue. |
