 here have been many recent events happening on Sonoma that have cause a split in
our population, they all center around the seemingly unbeatable FOA (Followers of Armageddon).
When these "criminals" showed up many months ago it was the thought of a populace that these were
but petty criminals causing trouble. Little did they know the magnitude of what was about to happen.
. . . . . . Things really got out of hand when a series of massive earthquakes were blamed on the FOA. At that time there was little doubt that the FOA had planned these attacks. As a response Lord British made a special rare announcement to all the people of Britannia. It stated that the FOA must be brought to justice and that the members of this wretched clan were to be found. Later that eve a secret hidout of the FOA was discovered. Although the hideout was abandon, a few vital clues remained. . . . . . . It was these clues that have led adventurers on a series of paths, many leading to deadends and leaving them puzzled. Even now there are many unanswered questions. It was then that members of the FOA began to get more and more bold and they were spotted within the streets of our town and in the forest. New evidence soon came about that the FOA were looking for artifacts to assist them in casting some dreaded spell. Guards were posted day and night as the chests containing the artifacts were found. But it was difficult to guard the chests at all times and many fell into the hands of the FOA. Then the people were saved when one by one the three masterminds of the FOA were brought to justice and imprisoned. Everyone figured that the shard was safe. However, they were wrong. There was a person higher than these three, and possibly even more. The pot had been set to boil. . . . . . . Within the past week it was announced that the FOA were to transfer these prisoners for their cells back to Yew Prison. Many brave souls were enlisted for the cause, and the first transfer was sucessful. This is the night things fell apart and Sonoma was plunged into a virtual civil war. One of the defenders of that night were the infamous SAS guild (Known to be one of the longest lasting guild of murderers on the shard). In addition, people became irritated with the lack of care Lord British and others had taken to the matter. A final aspect is the fact that the people have seen a different face of the FOA. The FOA say that they are not trying to destroy the world, but in fact are attempting to free the world from Lord British's rule and put a more democratic system in place. These three events have driven Sonoma apart. . . . . . . The FOA has gained many sympathizers, and many people upset with the whole situation and not knowing what the truth is, declared neutrality. One group that has always helped the FOA have been the Shadowclan orcs, led my Grunk Half-orc. In addition after the first transfer PAS and the SA (Sonoma Alliance), led by King David. Joined as allies to the FOA. DOM, a murderer's guild has also been spotted with the FOA. These three groups create a rather large set of troops we vital in the task of freeing Junin Pince, from the Second Caravan. Also, monsters have been attacking the Prisoner caravans. . . . . . . With all of these planned attacks it must be asked how they could be put on while their supposed leaders were in prison. Del Thorrin was the man behind the attacks. He met an unfortunate demise during the final prison transfer. In addition during the final transfer the guards to the caravan recieved a tremendous boost from the citizens of the realm. The entire transfer was completed with little resistance. . . . . . . So now the split between the factions on Sonoma remains fresh and as people are forced to wait emotions flare and erupt in small burst of anger. It is difficult to determine what the truth in the matter is with the FOA claiming a most noble cause and Lord British's apathy for the situation. There are many rumors as well, stating the Lord British has put the whole thing on. To that there is a spy in Lord British's trusted council. Until more of the story unfold, it is impossible to draw any conclusions, but as the situation now stands. Junin Pince is still at large (The are no other free known FOA), and both Martoo Saul and Zendella Kyrss are awaiting trial in Yew Prison. |
