As Britannia's booming econemy continues to rise, the price of real estate is soaring. Some say this increase is a well needed balance to the economic system, while others say it is merely the work of money hungry architects. Is the benefits of a house price increase really worth the cost?

Recently, the guild of architects decided that the developement of Britannia has gone off the scale. They found it necesary to raise the rates on houses. The guild states many reasons for the increase. They believe that this will slow down the out of control econemy and help to decrease the inflation rates. They also state that people were becoming careless when placing their houses, using land that was not under there ownership, blocking vital trade routes, and displacing
native and endangered animals. Also there is fear that overdevelopement would deplete the wood and stone resources of the land and drive prices higher than they are now. The guild of architects says that the raise of price was immenent and the price increase is now at the level of the peoples increased incomes. The guild of architects refused to comment on whether more increases were coming.

On the other side of the story many citizens of Britannia are extremely upset about the rate increase. They state that on the average artisans income of 200 gold a week it would take over four years just to buy a tent. It would take a ludicrous 2,750 weeks to buy a castle. I have to admit that it would be very abnormal for a normal citizen to buy a castle, but even for a noble the price is completely overinflated. The citizens also brought up the point that if house prices are so high there will be a growth in the percent of people that are homeless. Before long the inns will become as crowded as the banks. The citizens of britannia are urging Lord British to do something about these exorbinant house prices before the situation gets out of had and people are forced to theivery to pay their bills.

The dramatic increase in house prices has raise the cost of houses two-fold. A house that was 49,000 gold before is now 98,000. Even the tent is an outrageous 12,000. Some say that this increase is necesary to balance the econemy and slow growth. On the other hand, some say the price increase is depriving people of a warm bed. What will be the outcome of this situation? Will Lord British step in and resolve it? Who knows, but until something is done patience is going to continue to be stretched to the limit.
