In breaking news today, a new method of manufacturing poison from the reagent nightshade was discovered. This new method can create extremely powerful poisons, that can not only decrease the vital functions of a victim but also cause the victim to become very tired. This discovery comes as a surprise as many alchemists have been trying for years to unleash more power from nightshade. Many groups are claiming responsibility for the discovery. Today we even recieved a letter from the Zog Cabal claiming they had created the new poisons. Most evidence, however, points to the Moonglow alchemists shop. The research into the creaion of a powerful poison was the rage about 5 months. A farmer had stumbled across a vile of poison that had long since been forgotten on the forest floor. Mistaking it for a heal potion, he drank it and before his farmhands could come to his aid the farmer was dead. Upon forensic evaluation, the farmer appeared to have died of almost immediately upon drinking the poison. This event caused a boom in the art of alchemy as everyone wanted to discover the secret formula for the powerful poison. As the months passed, the craze died down until only a few remote alchemists continued research. Today is the day when their studies finally pay off. As far as we can trace, the recipe was transfered from the alchemist in Occlo to a mercant during a small poker game. The recipe was then stolen from the merchant on his journey to Britain. When the ship docked in Britain, black market opperatives contacted the thief and obtained the poison recipe. From here the path becomes unclear, but eventually the recipe made its way to the head of the alchemists guild. In the goodness of science, he published the new method in his monthly journal. The new method of creating the poison is a very simple process. The nightshade must first be soaked in cold water to lossen the fibers. Then a course grinding takes place. As this process is completed a bit of groud pepper is added (gives it a little kick). The mixture must then be heated until it turns a bright green color. The shade of green determines the strength of the poison. Only the master alchemist can define the suttle shades of green that create the most powerful poisons. The potion must then be bottled immediately and sealed. Because of the wide variety of shades of green that will make effective poison, the alchemists guild has developed four types. The first is lesser poison. This will merely make a person nausious and will slowly cause damage to internal organs the second type in normal poison. This is stronger than lesser poison and can work more quickly. The third type will is called greater poison and will make a person very ill, this poison will bring death very quickly. The strongest poison is deadly poison, and as the name says, it is very deadly. The strongest person can't last more than a few seconds when they are the victim of this potion. Immediatley the poison attacks the nervous system and make the victim light headed and weak. Soon paralysis sets in and death. Not all hope is lost though if infected by this poison. No sooner had alchemists developed this potion, they then developed a greater cure potion. This potion will coax the poison our of any bloodstream. Great progress was made today in the ancient arts of alchemy. The people who developed the potions spent months of hard work, to find the formula. The new potions developed are can be very deadly. Only the most skilled alchemist can make the ,most deadly of the potions though. The career of the assassin may soon resurrect across the land. |
